At Egypt Red Sea resorts, do you need to reserve beach sunbeds early, and is sea access from the shore or only via a pontoon?

TL;DR
At this type of beach, there’s no proper deep-water entry from the shore, so swimming is mainly via 2 fixed pontoons. Front-row loungers are usually taken by about 8:00, but second- and third-row beds are still often available, so it’s hard to end up without a sunbed.
As of around 8:00, the front-row sunbeds are usually already taken or informally reserved, but there are still plenty of free spots on the second row. If being right by the water matters, it’s best to arrive before 8 am.
After breakfast, around 9:00, the number of free loungers drops noticeably, but there are usually still spaces on the third row and farther back. Even around 11:00, you can still find a few open sunbeds, just not in the best location.
It’s unlikely that you’ll end up without any sunbed at all; the main issue is how close to the sea you want to be. The first row fills up early, while the farther rows fill much more slowly.
There is no proper deep-water access directly from the shore, so the main sea entry is via 2 fixed pontoons. This works if you want immediate deep water, but it’s not ideal if you’re looking for a gentle sandy walk-in entry.
The pontoons themselves are considered convenient, but the narrow descent into the water can be frustrating when people gather on the steps. The access is only about 70–80 cm wide, so it can become congested during busy periods.
Climbing back out of the water is not especially comfortable: travelers noted that one extra step would make the ladder much easier to use. Some other Egyptian hotels have better-designed stairs, so this is worth considering for families or anyone with knee issues.
