Can hotel waiters and bartenders exchange dollars for Egyptian pounds?

Waiters have asked guests to break large bills into smaller ones, which means the exchange works both ways — you can ask them to change your dollars too.

Standard housekeeping tip is $1 or 50 Egyptian pounds. It's better to give waiters and bartenders one larger tip rather than small amounts daily — they'll remember you and be more helpful.

Waiters in white uniforms at the main bar will regularly exchange dollars for pounds in small amounts, e.g. $20 at a time, and give $1-2 change. Tipping $1 for an extra order makes them very happy.
