TL;DR
In most resorts the beach is a 5-10 minute walk, but there's usually a free shuttle bus for rooms near the water park or far blocks, running frequently. Some beach spots are accessible only from your own hotel's territory or via arrangements with locals.
Direct access to certain beach spots is only possible from your own hotel's grounds. It used to be reachable from the street side via rocks, but that area is now fenced off. You can swim around the buoys from neighboring hotels' beaches, or arrange with locals to get through a gap in the fence.
From second-line rooms, the shuttle bus to the beach runs frequently with minimal waiting. Walking takes about 10 minutes. Many guests walk the first day to gauge the distance, then use the shuttle afterward.
In some resorts internal transport isn't needed at all since the beach, pools, and restaurants are all close together. The shuttle is mainly used by guests staying in far blocks near the water park.
