TL;DR
Avoid tourist-oriented supermarkets like Red Sea and Cleopatra Market. Look for local household stores inside nearby malls or fixed-price supermarkets a short walk from the hotel strip.
About a 10-minute walk from the hotel area (turn left) there is a mall with a local household goods store on the ground floor. It looks rough around the edges but sells laundry detergent and other basics at local prices.
Near Cleopatra Market, about a 5–7 minute walk away, there is a newer supermarket with fixed prices that are noticeably cheaper than the tourist-oriented shops.
Red Sea and Cleopatra Market are tourist-oriented stores with inflated prices. It is worth walking further from the main tourist area to find better deals.
