TL;DR
Transfer times in Hurghada vary wildly — from 15 minutes to over 2 hours depending on your hotel location and pickup order. Makadi hotels are picked up last but avoid the city loop.
A tuk-tuk ride to the beach takes just 1–2 minutes; on foot it's simply a road crossing from the old reception.
The walk took about 25 minutes; the taxi back cost 50 Egyptian pounds (driver made change from 100 EGP).
Lotus Bay in Safaga is about 40 minutes' drive from Makadi Bay.
Hotels in Makadi Bay are picked up last on the route, but the upside is you skip the long loop through Hurghada city. Fellow passengers reported spending 2 hours just collecting guests from other hotels.
From the Magawish area to Mamsha (the Shai Gens strip) it's just a 15–20 minute walk in the evening — actually faster than taking a vehicle due to one-way streets in that area.
The outbound transfer took about 30 minutes, but the return trip stretched to 1.5 hours due to multiple hotel pickups — some stops were visited twice. The routing is very inefficient.
