At the start of July, travelers note that hotel fruit selection is much weaker than last year: instead of papaya, plums, or mango, they mostly see oranges, apples, and dates. This suggests mango season has not fully kicked in yet.

By late June, some travelers were getting watermelon at hotel dinners roughly every other day, but no mango at all. They also said Spinneys did not yet have consistently good mango, so supermarket availability is still hit-or-miss.

Some visitors feel fruit quality in Hurghada is currently underwhelming even in well-known places like Ali Baba, including mango. If you plan to buy fruit, it is better to inspect each piece carefully rather than buying the first ones you see.
