Is there an airport entry fee for InDrive taxis at Hurghada Airport?

Hurghada taxis accept dollars, but it's a bad deal: a ~60 EGP fare is just over $1, yet you'd end up paying $2 and losing nearly half. Cash Egyptian pounds are strongly recommended — card payments are not an option, and change given for euros or dollars will be at an unfavourable rate.

InDrive drivers often reject app fares and demand payment in dollars. For a ~2 km trip from Long Beach, the app showed 37–41 EGP, but drivers refused and asked for $5. After four rejections, a ride was secured for 50 EGP when a local called from their own phone.

Taxis entering Hurghada Airport grounds pay a 30 EGP access fee. This is not included in the InDrive ride price and is usually charged to the passenger on top of the fare. The exact extra amount may vary by driver.

From the Sheraton area, a taxi to the airport should cost around 52 EGP (roughly $1). A fair price is $2–3. If you paid 5 EUR and weren't charged an extra airport fee, the base fare was already inflated to cover it.
