The situation is unpredictable: after a wave of strict checks, enforcement eases and travelers pass without issues, then checks resume. It is not safe to count on a 'quiet' period.

Beyond Egyptian restrictions, certain medications are officially banned for import into the traveler's home country. Even if Egyptian customs lets you through, border control on arrival may confiscate the medicine. Check the legal status of specific drugs before travelling.
