TL;DR
In 2025–2026 there are virtually no queues — the entire process including visa on arrival is very fast, often finishing before luggage even arrives on the belt.
If immigration cards are not handed out on the plane, you can pick them up after landing in Sharm el-Sheikh and fill them in at the airport. Filling out three cards took about 10 minutes, but passport control itself may take longer if you end up with a slow officer.
Arrived and departed on Nesma Airlines flight NE-648 (regular flight, charter fare). No questions asked at passport control. Stay was under 28 days — no issues whatsoever.
Question raised: if a flight is significantly delayed and you arrive after midnight, can you still buy a visa on arrival? Based on others' experience, visas are sold late at night, but worth confirming in advance.
Arrived at 9 PM and purchased a visa on arrival. No queues at all, even though multiple flights landed at the same time. Luggage was already on the belt by the time passport control was done — zero waiting.
