For boxed goods like knives or accessories, check prices online before buying and always negotiate. Cheap items are often shipped in bulk and resold back home for less than what tourists pay in Egypt.

Alcohol (whisky, gin, liqueurs) is best bought at the airport duty-free on the way home — it fits in carry-on luggage if you're not bringing other Egyptian purchases.
