What is the flight experience like on budget airlines flying to Sharm el-Sheikh?

Nesma flights were reported to have very poor cabin cleaning: even on an on-time departure, passengers found trash on the seats and had to clear their own places before sitting down.

A recent Air Cairo review says the flight was acceptable for an Egyptian charter: exit-row seats were given for free, passengers received two large dry sandwiches, and later cookies with juice. The toilets were clean at first, but toilet paper reportedly started running out after about an hour. The main drawback was uncomfortable seats.

One carrier operates an aging Boeing 737-800 where seats do not recline. On a night flight, the only meal service consisted of snacks, juice, a small biscuit bar, cookies, and a cup of water. Cabin crew spoke Russian.

Passengers taller than 170 cm will find the cabin cramped. A cigarette smell was noticed several times during the flight, apparently from crew members, with no action taken. There is no food service at all — only a 0.5 l bottle of water is provided. Bring your own food.

Flight delays can be unpredictable and lengthy — one group waited 7 hours at the departure airport due to air traffic restrictions. The actual condition of the aircraft is largely a matter of luck.
