How do you get between Bali Airport and Melasti Beach, and can you get a ride back without your own scooter?

Without your own vehicle, the usual way to leave Melasti Beach is by Grab or Gojek. Motorbike taxis may appear in the app, but pickups can be inconsistent at the beach, so a car is the more reliable option.

The trip from I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport to Melasti Beach usually takes about 45–70 minutes to reach the Ungasan / South Kuta area. In heavy traffic, it can stretch to around 1.5 hours.

If the app will not find a driver from the beachfront, walk up to the main road near the Melasti Beach entrance. Drivers are more likely to accept Grab or Gojek requests from there than from the lower beach area.

As a rough price guide, a car from Melasti to the airport is usually around IDR 120k–180k, while a motorbike taxi is about IDR 60k–100k if a driver accepts the ride.

From the airport, you can take an official taxi, but it is usually more expensive. A cheaper option is to walk to the app-based pickup zone and order Grab or Gojek to Melasti Beach, Ungasan.

There is effectively no practical public transport to Melasti Beach, so if you do not have a scooter, plan on using a taxi or private transfer. This matters especially in the evening, when fewer drivers are available around Ungasan.
