What time should you visit Lahangan Sweet in East Bali for the best Mount Agung view, and is 10 am too late?

The safest plan is to go early, ideally for sunrise. In the Karangasem area, skies are usually clearer in the morning, while by 9–10 am Mount Agung is often covered by clouds.

Arriving at 10 am is already on the late side if your main goal is the classic volcano view. You still might get lucky, but the odds are much lower than between 6:00 and 8:00 am.

Mount Agung can still be visible later in the day, but there is no guarantee even on a sunny day. At Lahangan Sweet, what matters most is not just no rain, but low cloud around the mountain itself.

You generally have better chances in the dry season, roughly April to October. In the rainy season and shoulder months, clouds build around Agung more quickly, so an early start matters even more.

If you are coming from South Bali, plan for a pre-dawn departure: reaching Lahangan Sweet from Canggu, Seminyak, or Ubud usually takes about 2.5 to 4 hours depending on traffic and your starting point.

It is also more practical to arrive early to avoid not only clouds but also queues at the photo spots. After sunrise, the popular platforms and swings get noticeably busier.
