TL;DR
Standard resort transfers only cover airport ↔ resort routes. Inter-resort transfers require separate arrangements. Payment can be made on arrival at the airport.

Malé airport has all transfer services available on arrival — you can purchase or pay for transfers there without pre-booking. It's not crowded. Note: for departures, you're only allowed into the airport 3 hours before check-in opens.

A standard round-trip transfer package covers airport → resort → airport only. If you plan to move from one resort to another (not back to the airport), that's a separate transfer and needs to be arranged independently.

For non-standard routes — such as resort A to resort B without going through the airport — you need to confirm in advance with the transfer operator or both resorts whether this is possible and what the cost is. It won't happen automatically.
