Seychelles vs Bali or Thailand: which is better for a beach holiday?

For a classic beach vacation, Seychelles is often ranked above Bali: Bali’s beaches are commonly seen as its weak point, while the island is better suited to waterfalls, rice terraces, ancient temples, and surfing. If your main goal is sea and postcard-style beaches, travelers usually find Seychelles a better fit.

Some travelers say that after visiting Seychelles, they no longer feel drawn to standard beach destinations like Thailand or Bali. Their main reasons are low crowds, standout beaches, beautiful nature, and a very comfortable climate. Eden Island is mentioned as a particularly convenient base for repeat stays.

If you do not want a one-format holiday, some travelers advise against comparing Seychelles directly with Asia. The Philippines are praised for sharks, marine life, scenery, and canyoning; Ko Lipe in Thailand works well as an island option; and Gili plus Lombok in Indonesia are highlighted for volcanoes, manta rays, and snorkeling. Thailand still wins on trip simplicity and lower cost, while Mauritius is usually considered cheaper but with weaker beaches; it is also noted as a place where riding a scooter is easier.
