What is the beach like at the Vesta/World Resort area in Bodrum: is there any sand, and is it suitable for kids?

The beach is clean and there are usually enough sunbeds, but finding a shaded one can be tricky since the beach umbrellas are described as flimsy/weak — noted as a downside. By around midday and in the afternoon, availability is not an issue.

Clarification on the small 'sandy patch': it's actually rocks lightly dusted with sand rather than true sand. Separately, there is a tiny strip of pure sand belonging to the city beach nearby, which is often not very clean, though water entry there is pleasant and genuinely sandy underfoot.

Vesta’s shoreline is described as fully rocky. If you want sand, travelers recommend using the beach by World/Resort, which is about a 2-minute walk away and is generally accessible to guests from nearby.

On one of the nearby hotel beaches, a central pier splits the shoreline into two sections. The right side has fine pebbles and very small waves, so it is the area most often used by parents with children; the water entry is also over fine pebbles.

The left side of the same beach is more sand-and-pebble, but waves are stronger there and the surf tends to bring in more seaweed and debris. Sunbeds are the same on both sections and on the pier, and there are three separate access points into the water from the pier.

If you are expecting a wide sandy shoreline, it is better to adjust expectations: travelers describe only a very small sandy patch off to the side, with room for roughly 10 sunbeds. Most swimming access is from the pier and a wooden pontoon.

Guests noted that there were not many children at this type of hotel, likely because of the beach setup: there is very little true sandy entry and a lot depends on pier access. For toddlers, the calmer right-hand section or the sandier area by World/Resort seems more practical.
