What to see in Bodrum: is Bodrum Castle worth visiting and what else to do?

Bodrum Castle (Castle of St. Peter) is the must-see highlight of Bodrum — beautiful and interesting inside. Entrance is paid, and it's worth every lira. Located right in the city centre.

The old lanes near the castle are photogenic but limited in scope — just a handful of traditional houses, more of a photo stop than a full neighbourhood to explore.

Bodrum marina is worth a stroll and is conveniently close to the castle and old lanes — you can cover all three in a single walk.

You can view the castle exterior for free, but the interior is far more rewarding — it houses the Museum of Underwater Archaeology with unique artefacts.
