Are there mosquitoes in Turkey and how bad are they?

Several people had bites on their legs, but not everyone. No one actually saw or heard mosquitoes — it's possible something else is biting. An unusual experience for first-time visitors.

If mosquitoes were the culprit, bites would appear all over the body, not just the legs, and you'd hear them. Most likely it's a different insect doing the biting.

Mosquitoes are definitely present — they reached even the 3rd floor despite using a plug-in repellent. There aren't many, but for a child with a mosquito allergy, even one bite caused a reaction.
