What are hotel room amenities like in Turkey — water, food, and facilities?

TL;DR

Turkish hotels typically offer drinking water coolers throughout the property, furnished balconies, AC and TV in rooms. Bar selection is usually limited to beer and wine.

Hot water dispensers are located throughout the hotel, which is apparently why there are no kettles in the rooms. For preparing baby food at night this is inconvenient — consider bringing a small travel kettle.

Housekeeping quality and fridge restocking vary significantly depending on which housekeeper is assigned: some guests had the fridge reliably refilled, neighbours found it restocked only every other day. Balcony furniture may not be cleaned — guests sometimes had to wipe down the table and chairs themselves.

The dining room has air conditioning, which makes it bearable when outside temperatures reach around 46°C, though some guests found it slightly underpowered.

Laundry and swimwear left to dry on the balcony can be blown away by the wind, especially overnight. Some items may be collected by other guests and brought to the lobby, but others may be lost entirely.

Rooms in the main building are older but functional. Water and soft drinks (Pepsi bottles) were restocked in the room daily.

Fridges with bottled water and ayran are placed throughout the hotel. Rooms on the 6th floor had excellent soundproofing — no noise from neighbors over 12 days.

Balconies are spacious with two chairs, a table, and a small drying rack. Rooms facing the Migros side are quiet — no street noise, comfortable sleeping with the window open.

Drinking water is available from a cooler in the restaurant. A complimentary 1.5L bottle is left in the fridge at check-in (one time only). If you dislike the cooler water, Migros supermarket is nearby for buying your own supply.
