TL;DR
Standard check-in at Turkish hotels is 2–3:30 PM, check-out at noon. Some hotels may accommodate early check-in if you ask at reception.
One hotel impressed guests who arrived at 10 AM — they were asked to wait in the lobby for about 20 minutes, then found their room already ready. Staff handled all the paperwork and just asked for a signature. This reportedly happens throughout the day for arriving guests.
Piles of luggage in hotel lobbies are a common sight — rooms are vacated at noon but new guests can't check in until later. Even when switching rooms within the same hotel, guests are asked to leave by noon and only get access to the new room around 3:30 PM.
Around noon, a large portion of hotel staff goes on break, which explains why check-in is essentially paused between 12 PM and 3 PM, leaving arriving guests waiting in the lobby.
