How crowded are Marmaris hotels in June and do you need water shoes for the beach?

Currently 80–90% of guests are locals. They reserve sunbeds by the pool from 7 a.m. and sometimes don't show up, making it hard to find a spot — though beach sunbeds are plentiful. The beach itself is somewhat dirty with stone slabs; swimming from the pier is more comfortable. Room quality varies. Food is basic but filling, alcohol is decent, the bar runs until midnight, and there are evening shows and daytime pool activities.

As of June 20th, occupancy is around 60% — lower than the same period last year. Despite this, the hotel feels busy: crowds are most noticeable in the restaurant and bar, while the beach has enough space for everyone.

During the first week of June the hotel was fully booked, yet remained quiet and calm. Sun loungers on the beach were always available; poolside loungers near the beach were harder to find. Dinner queues were short and manageable.

Just returned from the hotel: occupancy was around 40%, very quiet. Good value for money overall. Key downside — the beach entry is awkward: you either use the pier or a spot slightly to the right, but water shoes are essential either way.

By June 15th the hotel had noticeably filled up — guest numbers rose sharply in the final three days. The hotel may now be at full capacity.

Throughout the week up to June 15th, occupancy stayed around 70% — sunbeds were always available anywhere on the beach, both in the shade and right at the water's edge. After the 15th, guest numbers increased sharply.
