Cross one of the bridges over the Han River and you'll find a completely different side of Da Nang — a pleasant riverside promenade and streets calm enough to walk without dodging motorbikes or vendors. Most tourists never discover this area, spending their entire stay on the narrow strip near the beach.

If you've ticked off all the standard sights from travel apps and are wondering what to do next, head across the bridge. The western part of this million-person city looks nothing like the tourist beach strip.

The tourist version of Da Nang is just a few streets along the coast, but that's only a fraction of the city. Cross the river at least once to experience the real urban Da Nang with local life and a very different atmosphere.
