BIDV warns customers at account opening that the card will be blocked immediately upon visa expiry. It is unclear whether this is enforced in practice or simply a formal regulatory disclaimer.

If you need an account that won't close when your visa expires, it's worth comparing terms at multiple banks before opening one. Some banks are more flexible with long-term foreign customers.
