As of 26 June 2026, Vietnam’s Pre-Arrival Information (PAI) system was reportedly still operating in a pilot mode, according to information cited from the Russian Embassy in Vietnam. Travelers could complete the online form and obtain a QR code in advance, but at that time it was not treated as a mandatory requirement for immigration clearance.
As of June 2026, the Pre-Arrival Card system has expanded beyond Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) and Phu Quoc (PQC) to also cover Hanoi (HAN) and Da Nang (DAD) airports. Cam Ranh (CRV) is not yet included. No official requirement has been published for land border crossings (Cambodia, Laos, China).
From 22 June 2026, completing the electronic pre-arrival declaration is mandatory for all visitors arriving through participating airports. After submission, the QR code is sent to the email address you provide — save it to show at passport control.
As of June 2026, the arrival card is required for passengers landing at Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) and Phu Quoc (PQC) airports. It must be completed online before reaching passport control via the Vietnam Pre-Arrival Portal. Save the QR code and take a screenshot after submitting.
If entering on an e-Visa: select Passport Type — P (Popular Passport), Visa Type — Electronic Visa (E-Visa), enter your e-Visa number, full name and passport details exactly as in your passport, your flight number, and your first accommodation address in Vietnam (any address works).
If entering visa-free: select Passport Type — P (Popular Passport), Visa Type — Unilateral exemption. Leave the Visa Number field blank. Fill in your personal details, passport number, flight number, and first accommodation address as usual.
Important: the form can only be submitted within 72 hours before your arrival. It's best to complete it before boarding your flight. After submitting, save the QR code — you may need to show it at passport control.
