What is the weather like in Nha Trang during the off-season — how rainy is it?

A traveler who visited Nha Trang twice (peak season late October and off-season late April) says that even locals have struggled to predict typhoons over the past two years — previously the off-season just meant rain and humidity, but now the weather is less predictable.

One visitor noted that waves during rain in Nha Trang are pretty much the same as in clear weather — the rain itself doesn't ruin swimming, the main thing is avoiding typhoons.

Seasoned travelers with 10 years of experience flying to Vietnam say weather forecasts tend to exaggerate. In reality, rain may fall only a couple of times, and even then it's a brief tropical shower that many find refreshing. The rest of the time it's very hot.

Nha Trang stands out from other Vietnamese beach destinations during the off-season: rains are shorter and less intense, and typhoons rarely make it this far. The heat, however, remains.
