What is the weather like in Nha Trang in late May and early June?

Rain forecasts for Nha Trang are often exaggerated because some weather data comes from stations in the mountains: it may be raining there while the city itself stays dry.

At the start of July, the weather briefly shifted: roughly from July 1 to 4 it was unusually cool and cloudy for the season, with little to no sun for 2–3 days in a row, while rain remained short-lived.

Over a full month in Nha Trang, there was only one genuinely rainy day and a couple of overcast days, but it stayed hot throughout. It is the dry season: rain is possible but rarely materialises in practice. Weather forecasts do not match reality — reports from people on the ground are more reliable.

As of June 20, rain forecasts have been consistently wrong: multiple visitors spent one to two weeks in Nha Trang with daily rain predicted but experienced no rain at all. Skies were sunny and the sea warm. Forecast rain keeps getting pushed further out.

Weather around this period is highly variable: sunshine alternates with clouds, thunder and lightning appear, cold wind picks up — yet rain may not come at all, or may fall as a brief 15-minute downpour.

June 13: sunny in the morning, clouds rolled in by midday, and light rain started around 4 PM. Drone/flight tours over a waterfall were cancelled due to weather conditions.

June 13: sea conditions were excellent — calm in the early morning with only a slight ripple by 11:20 AM. The previous day some debris was blown in by wind around noon, but mornings are generally clean. Observed at the central beach.

From May 27 through early June, there was almost no sunshine — the sun appeared only a couple of times for about 5 minutes each. The final days brought continuous rain, with forecasts showing more of the same ahead.
