Which area to stay in Phu Quoc — Marina or Duong Dong?

Advantage of staying in the center (Duong Dong): easy to reach any beach on the island, evenings aren't boring, and there's a wide choice of cafes and restaurants.

Recommended hotel Phuong Bin House in the center: good breakfasts, beach just 30 meters away, own beach loungers, everything nearby.

If airport access matters, Marina is convenient: it’s about 15 minutes away by taxi or scooter. Within the area, Marina Square and Marina Waterfront are worth checking, with hotels in several categories.

For travelers with a child, Marina is described as the more convenient option: people mention cleaner sea, a playground, pools, cafes and beach clubs within walking distance, plus reasonably priced hotels.

Marina district is calm and quiet with the beach close by and two small night markets nearby. Duong Dong is busier with more foot traffic, shops, and cafes within easy reach.

Marina has the most affordable accommodation on Phu Quoc — modest apartments or city-style hotels with a shared pool. Hotels in the center (Duong Dong) exist but the beach there is not as good.

My Marina Hotel in the Marina area is a budget option just 50 meters from the sea. Beach clubs, a night market, and pleasant evening walking areas are all nearby. Downside: the area is very quiet with few people around.

The low tourist density in the Marina area means that large resort hotels like the InterContinental are practically open to outsiders — staff reportedly don't challenge non-guests even on the beach and pool areas.
