What to do if your Egypt hotel doesn't restock toiletries (shampoo, toothpaste) in your room?

TL;DR
In some Egyptian hotels, housekeeping only restocks shampoo, toothpaste etc. on request — ask the cleaner directly, use the door call button, or contact the guest relations desk near reception.
The most reliable method is direct contact: rooms have a 'make up room' / 'do not disturb' button — press it and the cleaner comes and asks what's missing, even drink preferences. If service is good, mention it at reception on checkout.
If the cleaner nods but never brings anything, go to reception and ask for the guest relations staff member (in one hotel this was a woman named Alina, desk to the right of reception) — they'll explain toiletries are only given on request.
Bring your own toothpaste and toothbrush just in case — some hotels (unlike typical 5-star chains) simply don't stock them, and getting a refill can be difficult.
Another working approach is catching the cleaner personally in the hallway and asking for more shampoo if there's not enough in the room — they'll usually go get it right away.
