Best road trips from Batumi by car for a day trip or short overnight stay

A simple coastal road trip is to drive north toward Anaklia, combining Anaklia itself with a water park and the dendrological park. It’s a good easy day drive from Batumi without difficult mountain roads.

For mountain scenery, a common route is the Goderdzi Pass with stops at Green Lake and an alpine park. The key practical tip is to go only in dry weather, as the road can be uncomfortable otherwise.

Another suggested road trip is Racha-Lechkhumi, known for scenic views and vineyards. A practical landmark for planning the drive is the route toward Nikortsminda.

For a shorter nature trip closer to Batumi, the Likhauri–Acha area is recommended for its forest, mountain river, recreation area, and viewpoints. It suits travelers who want nature without a very long drive.

If you have more time, Svaneti is also recommended. This is less of a quick day trip and more suitable for a longer mountain drive with an overnight stay or a very early departure.
