Can you pay with foreign currency (dollars/euros) in shops in Side, Turkey?

Not all checkouts at Migros accept cash: the left checkout near the exit is card-only. To pay in dollars and receive change in lira, use the right checkout — which typically has the longest queue.

There is a small shop with fixed lira prices that also accepts dollars at the exchange rate. It is located to the right of Rama: walk past the umbrella market stalls and continue further.

At bazaars and market stalls prices are not fixed — bargaining is expected. Sellers often treat 1 euro as equal to 1 dollar, which is unfavourable if paying in euros.

Just past Migros, beyond the park, there's a supermarket with a good selection of cookies and snacks at reasonable prices. They also accept dollars and exchange them for lira.

Migros supermarket accepts USD and EUR. Change is given in Turkish lira at the central bank rate, which is significantly better than using currency exchange offices.

Outside the hotel zone there are plenty of pharmacies, shops, and souvenir stalls. Small shops and pharmacies accept any currency and give change in the same currency. Major chains like Migros, A101, and Vaikiki give change in lira only. There's a currency exchange office at Mall of Side.
