Where is the best area to stay in Abu Dhabi for a beach holiday: Saadiyat, Marina, or the InterContinental area?

For a one-week stay, travelers who compare the options often drop the InterContinental area in favor of Saadiyat or Marina, which feel better suited to a resort-style holiday.

The InterContinental itself is not seen as a deciding advantage: the exact hotel matters less if the surrounding area does not match the kind of trip you want.

The InterContinental area is not especially convenient: it is not close to the city center, and there is basically only a shopping mall nearby. It may be slightly better placed for Emirates Palace, but Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Saadiyat museums, and Yas Island still usually mean taking a taxi.
